Faztek offers polycarbonate/Lexan, ABS, and PVC panels for use with T-Slotted Extrusions.

Polycarbonate panels are great for doors, machine guarding, storage cabinets and other enclosures. They each have strengths and weaknesses. Review the panel characteristics below to help determine which material is right for you.

Material Comparison

Due to its high strength and machining characteristics, polycarbonate/Lexan is ideal for use in machine enclosures, perimeter guards, safety fencing, robot guarding, etc….

ABS and PVC panels have many uses. Although not transparent, they offer a clean aesthetic look as well as a high degree of functionality. Common uses include use with sound enclosures, partitions, tops for workstations and desks and much more.

ABS is more rigid than PVC and is smooth on one side, and textured on the other. PVC panels are more susceptible to scratching.

Faztek offers three different series of T-Slotted Extrusion products. Each series varies by the size of T-Slotted Extrusions, part dimensions and typical applications. Below is a brief description of each series.

15 Series

The 15 Series line of T-Slotted Extrusions is the most popular. It is a fractional/English category with profile sizes range from 1.5″ x 1.5″ to 3.0″ x 6.0″. Typical applications include machine enclosures, perimeter guards, safety fencing, robot guards, workstations, material handling units, machine bases, test stands, conveyors and much more.

All 15 Series T-Slotted Extrusion profiles have a .320″ T-slot opening, with exception to the profiles containing a ‘QE’ prefix, which have a .315″ opening. Any component beginning with “15” is designed for use with the 15 Series T-Slotted Extrusions.

10 Series

The 10 Series line of T-Slotted Extrusions is a fractional/English category typically used in light-duty applications, such as machine guarding, end of arm tooling, small bases, robot stands and test stations. Profiles are offered in 1.0″ x 1.0″, 1.0 x 2.0″, 1.0″ x 3.0″, 2.0″ x 2.0″.

All 10 Series T-Slotted Extrusion profiles have a .25″ T-slot opening. Any component beginning with “10” is designed for use with the 10 Series T-Slotted Extrusions.

40 Series

The 40 Series line of T-Slotted Extrusions is a metric category based on 40mm increments. Available in 40mm x 40mm and 40mm x 80mm. This series is commonly used for machine enclosures, perimeter guards, safety fencing, robot guards, workstations, material handling units, machine bases, test stands, conveyors and much more.

All 40 Series T-Slotted Extrusion profiles have an 8.13mm T-slot opening. Any component beginning with “40” is designed for use with the 40 Series T-Slotted Extrusions.

This is a fairly new and rapidly growing series…watch for new T-Slotted Extrusion profiles and T-Slot components!

It may sound simple, but many T-slot profile users choose metric size profiles because they already have a full set of metric tools.

But did you know you can use metric fasteners in all of Faztek’s fractional T-slot profiles?

We offer a variety of metric t-nuts, fasteners, screws, and bolts – all compatible with fractional T-Slot Profiles. We even have the metric tools needed to complete your project.

It’s all about the tools:

When a customer needs metric, 9 times out of 10 they need metric fasteners. The t-slot profiles are not a concern, just the bolts so extra tools aren’t needed.

“15MFA” – Metric fasteners that work on 15 series t-slot profiles
“10MFA” – Metric fasteners that work on 10 series t-slot profiles
“13MFA” – Metric fasteners that are universally based on the thread size.

When assembling projects with Faztek T-Slotted Extrusions and T-Slot Components, it is very important to think ahead and plan before starting your Modular Framing System project. The time it takes to assemble depends greatly on the size and scope of your Modular Framing System project; however, a quick overview and basic planning can reduce time and eliminate the need to rework certain steps.

Please review the following information for help in assembling your Modular Framing Systems projects with Faztek. For additional assistance, contact our Design Team at design@faztek.net or at 260.482.7544 x203.

The recommended blade for cutting T-Slotted Aluminum Extrusions is a high-speed steel blade with carbide-tipped teeth. The tip configuration should either be a double chip or a triple chip tooth design. The recommended number of teeth on a blade is between 60 and 72.

When cutting aluminum, the blade must be cooled for the purpose of finish as well as blade loading. A vegetable oil-based coolant is recommended.

Let Faztek cut your extrusions:

  • Cut to any length with a tolerance of +/- .015″
  • Clean, precise cuts
  • Extrusions are washed and deburred after cutting

When designing a door for your Modular Framing System with hinges, please use the following information to ensure proper fitting.

  • Standard Swing Doors on a Modular Framing System
  • Bi-Fold Doors on a Modular Framing System
  • Tri-Fold Doors on a Modular Framing System

Many of Faztek’s T-slotted extrusions can be pressurized with up to 150psi of air to maximize efficiency and productivity. The center cavity of these T-Slotted Extrusions can deliver air to important locations for operating air tools and other accessories.

For example, a workbench can be constructed with a 1.5″ x 3.0″ T-Slotted Extrusion or 3.0 ” x 3.0″ T-Slotted Extrusion which can be pressurized for easy access to air tools.

Faztek’s pressure manifold blocks are made from aluminum with various NPT thread sizes. Rubber o-rings and cork gaskets ensure a clean airtight fit, which can be mounted on either the end or side of the T-Slotted Extrusion.

Faztek does NOT recommend linear motion products used in a hanging application!
